Helping Athletes, Coaches, and Families Unlock Their Full Potential
Welcome! I’m Umeka Wright, a compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-Associate) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor-Intern (LCDC-I), and I’m here to help you navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and achieve your goals.
As the founder of Making It Wright Counseling in the DFW area, I specialize in working with athletes, coaches, and blended families. I understand the unique stress that comes with competitive sports and the recruiting process, having experienced it firsthand as a previous athlete and as a parent whose children have played competitive sports for years, going through the recruiting process on all levels, from Junior College to Division 1 sports. This insight allows me to connect deeply with those facing similar pressures, offering personalized, compassionate guidance.
My Approach to Counseling
I take a holistic approach to therapy, combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused techniques to support your mental health and well-being. Whether you’re striving for peak performance in sports or seeking a healthier family dynamic, my goal is to empower you to overcome challenges and thrive.
